Dog Days of Summer

This is normally when it's super hot in Brentwood.  So far we have had no 100-degree weather here.  I suppose I shouldn't say anything because I don't want to jinx it.  I have loved the 80-something days.  We are on a warming trend, but so far I haven't heard a forecast for anything over 90.  I know the rest of the country has been sweltering and they have humidity to boot!  That's why it costs so much to live in California.  We pay for this great weather!

It's so quiet around here with the McLarens back at home.  We miss them already, and I know their cousins miss them too.  Hopefully we won't wait a year to see them again.

Melissa turned 7 this week and tomorrow is her birthday party.  She's so grown up.  I think our children grew up faster than we did, and our grandkids are growing up faster yet.  They seem pretty mature to me.  Melissa gave me a little massage one day when I was suffering from a very sore shoulder.  Would you believe she fixed it?  Just turning 7 and she got rid of that sore muscle for me. Their hugs and kisses make us feel so good, but did you know they could massage away the aches and pains?

The picture of my grandchildren is one that was taken while the McLaren family was visiting us in California this summer.  This is an annual event and it's amazing to see the changes over the years.  This time Grandma wanted to be in the picture, too, so that's me, surrounded by my amazing, adorable, smart grandchildren.
